Weight Management
Maintaining a healthy body weight can help prevent many diseases. A small weight reduction can lower your cholesterol and blood pressure as well as reduce your blood sugar levels. In addition, losing weight can help you feel and look your best.

Body Mass Index - BMI
Body Mass Index, also known as BMI, determines if you are at a healthy weight for your height. The score is valid for both men and women but it does have some limitations (e.g. it does not take into account lean body mass).

Our office staff is well trained and personable.

You are first examined by a physician who orders lab test as needed, prescribes medications and nutraceuticals. The nurses and other counselors teach you the principles of the Definition System. They give you the in depth explanation of why we commend certain medications, nutraceuticals and why we have you eat the foods we recommend.

We believe that weight loss and health maintenance in general is dependent on the development of four factors:

  • Environment
  • Nutrition
  • Physical Exercise
  • Inner Feelings

We do not use strenuous exercises but we do encourage walking and we show you how and why it is important to walk and how much you should do.

We do not have strict diets but we do teach you:
- What a complete protein is.
- What a complex carbohydrate is.
- What essential fatty acid is.
- What cis and trans fats are.
- Which fats are good and necessary for you.

We teach principles of eating: How long, how much, how often, and what to do while eating. We teach how to recognize when you have eaten enough and how to stop eating when you reach that point.

We teach weight loss principles that you can use all your life.

We do not use strict regimes because each of us is different. We have different body needs, different food needs, and different food likes.

Weight loss is not just about dieting or calorie restriction, it is about education and practice.

  • Eating healthy food creates a healthy environment for the cells.
  • Physical exercise creates the correct environment for muscles.
  • Eating slowly and chewing your food adequately creates a healthy environment for your digestion; and observation of and listening to others while eating creates a healthy environment for the development of your awareness or conscious mind.

We teach you the specifics and the easy way you can achieve each of these benefits. Weight loss regimes should not be stressful and ours is not. Knowledge and practice, not will power, causes weight loss. Follow us into thinness.
